BBC Radio Manchester:Talking About Depression
This should be another interesting week. Last week I was on the Heather Stott radio show on BBC Radio Manchester at 10.10 am talking about shyness and how to treat it. The day after the show I got a call from the show and they asked me to go back and talk about another area in which I have extensive experience working with clients; depression.
So back to Manchester, the interview will be at 10.10 am on Monday for about ten minutes, maybe slightly less for anyone who is interested in listening.
I find even with EFT that working with depression takes persistence and detachment from the desire to “fix” someone. It can be challenging to tap for quite a few sessions as aspect after aspect surfaces accompanied by the tears and suffering. Keeping grounded and of course tapping along will minimize the need to hurry or judge your client for “holding on”. Patience and building rapour stand out in my mind as the key factors. I have had so many depressed clients tell me through tears that they are feeling better overall. It takes some getting used to.
